Those things are beasts! Granted all of this isn't like the Colin McRae or DiRT games, this mod is surely great. ![]() Later, I came across an add-on pack that included hill climb cars. The mod also has some GT-style cars perhaps better suited for targa rallies and tarmac rallies. I mostly use the Lienz Hill Climb track as my test track for on-road and off-road capabilities. All of the cars look and perform very well. Through all of that trouble, I then managed to play this Rally World mod and to say the least, it is about as fun and as deep as the Historic Rally Car mod. The safest method was to visit (another message board) and download the files from there. Any sort of proper links to the mod usually take me to any number of shady websites. Case in point- I recently downloaded Rally World 4.0, a mod I've been looking for online after having seen videos and pictures of the mod. There is a reason why I try not to follow mods hosted on suspicious sites or on sites that lead to shady sites. This year will mark ten years since I bought rFactor. I may fire up rFactor in the near future for the first time in 2016. Funny enough, I then saw a bit of a video where the Bathurst Legends mod was racing around this same Africa rally course. One was kind of strange because I was looking up KAMAZ and saw someone post an rFactor video using a KAMAZ Rally Raid truck on a rally stage that looks like the Safari Rally. Yesterday after playing around with DiRT, I looked up a few rFactor videos on rallying. Granted rFactor isn't Colin McRae Rally or Richard Burns Rally on the rallying front, the feel overall isn't as solid. Usually when I think of rFactor and rally, I usually think of the amazing Historic Rally Car mod with all of those lovely classic rally cars. Then too, some of the different Lienz courses can be like tarmac rally courses. The early sort of rally racing for me in this game was that off-road Lienz course. After having picked up my first DiRT games (DiRT and DiRT 2), I always felt the weakest link for rFactor in terms of racing was rally racing. RFactor is an amazing simulation racing game.
